The Donner Party Soy Candle
If you're thinking that the "Donner Party" sounds a lot like "dinner party," then you're right - probably for the exact same reason you think it does.
The Donner Party was a group of American pioneers in the late 1840s who got stuck in the Sierra Nevada over the winter and were forced to have a dinner party of sorts, except the main course was themselves. Stuck in a wintery mountainous pass with no rescue in sight, members of the infamous Donner Party were forced to cannibalize other members who had succumbed to the weather to survive.
The story itself is pretty brutal, unfortunately, and not much of a laughing matter, so we're not going to go into too many details here. But here's the thing - it might all be a fake. Or at least, was sensationalized to sell books.
The truth of the matter is no living person knows exactly what happened at that infamous lake in the winter of 1847, but we do know exactly what our Donner Party 100% soy wax candle smells like.
And no, it doesn't smell like ... well, that.
Sweet wintry cranberry mixes with snowy evergreen in this soy candle to fill your home with a rich, frosty scent that brings you to a calm winter day in the Sierra Nevada wilderness. It's quite pleasant, and a much better alternative to what we could have made the candle smell like.
Burn time is approximately 50 hours for our 8 oz. candles and 15-20 hours for our 3 oz. candles.
